Full Potential Inks Industry-Academe Partnership with Mapua Malayan College

Partnership will focus on honing employment-ready skills and career paths for students

DAVAO, Philippines (March 16, 2023) -- Full Potential Solutions (FPS), a global customer experience (CX) outsourcing company, and Mapua Malayan Colleges Mindanao (MMCM) entered into a Memorandum of Agreement for an industry-academe partnership. The agreement is the first step for both parties to show their commitment to developing and employing multi-skilled graduates.

The two-hour signing ceremony outlined the partnership's specifics, with both parties committing to collaborating on competency development, industry-relevant program deployment, and workplace immersion. Representing MMCM were President and Chief Executive Officer Dr. Dodjie S. Maestrecampo, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer Engr. Alejandro H. Ballado Jr., Director for Corporate Partnerships and Alumni Affairs Leopoldo Aquino, and Career and Placement Associate Kaitlin Carito. During the ceremony, VP for People and Culture Rommel Kiko Moldero and VP for Operations Rex Arenas signed on behalf of FPS.

Based on the agreement, MMCM's role will be providing access to skilled candidates, delivering talks, seminars, and other career-building opportunities and ideas. FPS, on the other hand, will provide the resources and practical application necessary to turn those ideas into valuable real-life experiences. By working together, MMCM and FPS aim to drive economic growth, job creation, and foster a culture of innovation.

Dr. Dodjie S. Maestrecampo shared that the current student population is over 5,000, which they achieved four years earlier than the anticipated eight-year timeline.

“Though we are known for our engineering programs, we also have computer science, information systems, and business programs. With this partnership, academics will have the chance to get a real-world understanding of industry needs. Our goal here at MMCM is for learners to acquire the attributes that will make them globally competitive and locally in-demand,” said Dr. Maestrecampo.

VP Kiko Moldero emphasized Full Potential's verticals, which include Customer Service, Sales, Financial, and Technical portfolios, highlighting the diverse career paths available in the organization.

"We are not solely focused on call center jobs, but also on technical roles such as data science, AI, business intelligence, and software development. We have the resources and skill sets to train people for careers in tech. Through this partnership, we have the opportunity to bridge the skills gap and start hiring locally for technical roles, rather than globally," explained Kiko Moldero.

Both parties expressed their unique vision of cultivating a robust partnership and streamlining collaborative efforts to provide students with resilient and future-proof careers.
